Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Romeoville, Illinois, seeks a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift (2 pm–10:30 pm) to oversee daily manufacturing operations, assign work, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.

You will lead lean initiatives, monitor performance, manage manpower and materials, train staff, and coordinate with QA, planning, and supply chain to meet schedule goals.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years directing an hourly or manufacturing workforce.
• HS diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office and a business planning/inventory system.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Lean, Six Sigma, 5P or related CI experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations for a designated value stream.
• Plan and assign work, manage production schedules and resources.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and lean initiatives.
• Coordinate with QA, planning and supply chain to resolve parts/inventory issues.
• Monitor performance metrics and provide regular progress reports to management.
• Ensure safety training and conduct accident investigations as needed.
