Job summary

Conn Selmer, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to support reducing manufacturing cost while increasing productivity. You will implement optimized manufacturing processes under the direction of the Engineering Manager to ensure consistent productivity on the shop floor.

You will analyze operations, develop lean work cells, and collaborate with Quality to train operators and sustain improvements, with a focus on fixture design and tooling for manufacturing effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree or 8 years engineering experience.
• 1–5 years experience in manufacturing, preferably metal/wood fabrication or machining.
• Demonstrated ability to analyzing Takt times for improved efficiency and utilization.
• Mechanical acumen and hands-on knowledge of mechanics.
• Experience designing fixtures and tooling for manufacturing effectiveness.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Tooling experience and knowledge of fixtures.
• Understand of Dynamics-365 ERP system a plus.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.
• Proven LEAN and Six Sigma experience and practices.

Responsibilities

• Determine operations to procedure products and develop processes for quality, cost and efficiency.
• Analyze production processes, tooling and equipment for capacity adequacy.
• Develop and implement LEAN work cells and material flow.
• Participate in Kaizen support efforts.
• Implement process improvements to reduce costs.
• Provide expertise in machining, material flow and process flow.
• Develop ideas to remain cost-competitive; construct RFEs with ROI.
