Job summary

METAL CRAFT in Elk River, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize processes, improve product quality, and drive operational efficiency. You will develop and implement manufacturing plans supporting high-quality production while reducing waste and costs.

The role requires the application of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and collaboration across departments to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in a manufacturing-related field
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
• 2–5 years in manufacturing, medical or aerospace/defense preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost-effective manufacturing processes and procedures from customer drawings, specifications and part models.
• Assist other departments with manufacturability and technical support.
• Develop estimates to achieve lowest cost and shortest lead time while maintaining quality.
• Coordinate project activities including MRB, RCA, operations, quality, and process issues.
• Recommend equipment, fixtures, tooling and automation as needed to produce products.
• Establish manufacturing procedures in the ERP system and maintain routings.
• Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities across processes and the company.
• Create and maintain process documentation and updates.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to plan and implement refinements.
