Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager in Chicago to oversee the Inspection Center and lead a team of 5 leads and up to 70 front-line associates in a lean manufacturing environment. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure quality, and meet production and cost objectives while fostering a culture of engagement.

Responsibilities include mentoring, strategic planning alignment, and ensuring adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor and develop direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans aligned with the company.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that inspires communication, cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet metrics.
• Reinforce quality, production and cost objectives.
