Job summary

Carvana seeks a Reconditioning Center Manager to supervise daily operations within our Inspection Center in Chicago. You will direct a team of leads and front line associates, driving lean performance and continuous improvement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and planning skills, with a focus on safety, standards, and delivering high-quality vehicles in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to achieve project deliverables and company metrics.
• Must read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans aligned with company objectives.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters communication, cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff through recruiting, orientation, and training.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet metrics.
• Reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
