Summary
Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by store management, including cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine cleaning. They work with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates, and provide leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service
- Answer questions about store and merchandise
- Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on guest needs
- Anticipate guest needs and suggest additional items
- Demonstrate product knowledge and share it with teammates
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices
- Meet personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and net sales goals set by Store Management
- Provide service across front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals
- Achieve standards in business builders and guest loyalty programs
- Build and maintain good guest relationships, create a client‑based business
- Lead by example with high showmanship and customer service standards
- Coachable and open to manager training
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
- Identify recruiting opportunities using job tools and employee referrals
- Train new teammates to meet accountability, shift orientation, Loss Prevention, and sales presentation standards
- Maintain a positive floor culture and personal dress code compliance
- Participate in daily setup, training, and Performance Tracker reviews
- Motivate teammates to complete daily tasks
- Influence denim showmanship and fit card results
- Lead segment activities and support colleague development
Visual Merchandise Management
- Own product zones, applying knowledge, placement, and preferences
- Follow weekly checklists and product life cycle
- Ensure visual standards and weekly visual checklist compliance
- Identify merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations to Store Manager
- Provide store tours and maintain appropriate freight display
Operations
- Work a flexible schedule, including holidays as needed
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Recognize security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines
- Execute POS procedures and handle corporate calls
- Handle returns and exchanges per Buckle guidelines
- Maintain positive attitude with guests and teammates
- Provide feedback to Management on merchandise concerns and policy violations
- Keep the store clean, organized, and shoppable
Supervisory and Leadership
- Provide and receive feedback from peers and management
- Support leadership and promote personal and store growth
- Demonstrate professional, mature, stable relationships with teammates
- Fulfill mission by delivering high customer service and positive team spirit
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities as described.
Work Environment
Retail store setting with moderate noise level.
