Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Lead Technician for the Lookout wind site to supervise day-to-day wind turbine maintenance, electrical and hydraulic work, and sub-station activities. The role emphasizes safe, efficient, and profitable operations while guiding a crew and mentoring junior technicians.

The candidate will inspect repairs, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure accurate reporting of all work and parts.

Qualifications

Associates degree or technical equivalent.
5+ years wind turbine experience preferred.
Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Demonstrated wind turbine maintenance knowledge and safety awareness.
Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

Monitor and enforce safe work practices at wind plants and related activities.
Inspect repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment.
Perform maintenance and replacements to Clearway standards.
Lead crews with minimal supervision and train junior staff.
Document work performed, parts used and time spent using service reporting procedures.
Update manuals, work instructions and turbine data as needed.
Mentor others in reading schematics and maintenance methods.
Monitor site conditions, contractors and personnel to maximize revenue and minimize downtime.
Ensure tools and equipment are well maintained and organized.
Perform LOTO procedures and safety coaching.
