Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Wind Technician to support wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance under supervision. Compensation tiers range from Trainee to III, with pay bands defined by experience.

You will shadow senior techs, maintain tools, and operate a service vehicle, reinforcing safe practices. Roles from Trainee to Level II/III require passing advancement exams within six months and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or willing to obtain within 6 months.
• Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet and work in nacelle/top of turbine safely.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Able to travel as required.
• Able to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians in wind turbine maintenance.
• Document all work, parts, and time using service reporting procedures.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work on flexible on-call schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Lead maintenance crews as necessary and mentor lower level technicians.
