Job summary

Clearway Energy's Lookout wind site seeks a Lead Technician to oversee day-to-day operations and monitor the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient power generation.

The role requires climbing towers, troubleshooting, leading crews, and training lower level staff while documenting work and maintaining equipment; travel and flexible scheduling are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electrical or technical field plus 2+ years turbine experience, or 5+ years wind turbine experience.
• 1+ year independent turbine troubleshooting experience.
• Able to climb towers up to 300 feet.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to create/edit Word and Excel documents.
• Knowledge of wind turbine components and OEM maintenance methods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce safe work practices at wind plants and crews.
• Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for QA.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on Clearway equipment.
• Perform maintenance and replacement per procedures and standards.
• Lead crews and train lower level personnel as directed.
• Document all work, parts, and time using service reporting procedures.
• Read electrical schematics and mentor others as needed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and organized.
• Perform LOTO safely and mentor others.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weeknights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment serviced and in good condition.
