Leigh & Co. Events in Kansas is seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator for our 2026 season. This contract role offers flexible scheduling and project-based pay, with training provided and the opportunity to manage weddings onsite.

You will lead planning efforts, coordinate with clients and vendors, and ensure flawless day-of execution from details call to breakdown, while maintaining calm, solution-focused leadership throughout events.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in wedding or event planning.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Attend final details call with clients ~6 weeks prior to the wedding.
• Lead ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding.
• Serve as primary onsite advocate for the couple.
• Oversee ceremony and reception setup aligned with design and playbook.
• Manage full wedding day execution from vendor arrival to breakdown.
• Greet and direct vendors; main point of contact.
• Coordinate placement of escort cards, menus, table numbers, decor.
