Job summary

RK&K seeks a Structural Project Engineer to join our municipal infrastructure team. The role involves ownership of structural design scopes for water and wastewater facilities, coordinating across process, geotechnical, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will prepare calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents, perform QC reviews, support construction, and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

• PE license required or clearly active in process
• Experience in structural engineering for environmental/building-type structures
• Proficiency with applicable codes: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318/350, AISC 360, TMS 402/602
• Experience with structural analysis software: STAAD.Pro, RAM, RISA-3D
• Strong written and verbal communication and project-management skills

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, masonry, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum structures
• Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents for municipal projects
• Conduct QC reviews of deliverables and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements
• Lead routine design tasks and coordinate with other disciplines
• Participate in project meetings and support construction phase activities
• Conduct site investigations, condition assessments, and prepare engineering reports
• Develop repair strategies and cost estimates; monitor progress and budgets
• Mentor junior engineers and support professional development
