Job summary

RK&K is seeking a highly motivated Structural Project Engineer to join our municipal infrastructure team in the United States. You will own structural design scopes for water/wastewater facilities and building-type structures, lead technical tasks, and collaborate across disciplines from concept through construction.

The role offers leadership opportunities, client interaction, and mentoring of staff while maintaining licensure and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience focusing on environmental and building-type structures.
• Proficiency with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, TMS 402/602.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, RAM.
• Strong understanding of lateral load paths (wind/seismic) and liquid-retaining concrete design.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, masonry, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum structures.
• Prepare design calculations, plans, specs and construction docs for municipal projects.
• QC reviews of design deliverables for codes and client requirements.
• Own routine design tasks and mentor junior staff on complex systems.
• Coordinate with process, geotechnical, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.
• Support construction: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, field observations.
• Conduct site investigations and condition assessments of facilities and structures.
• Develop engineering reports and repair strategies for deteriorated structures.
• Prepare engineering cost estimates and track progress and budgets.
