Job summary
RK&K is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our municipal infrastructure team in Baltimore. You will lead structural analysis, design, and delivery for water and wastewater facilities, and coordinate with process, geotechnical, architectural, and other disciplines through construction.
The role emphasizes ownership of design scopes, technical leadership, and collaboration across disciplines, with opportunities for client contact and staff mentoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 4+ years of structural engineering experience focusing on environmental and building-type structures.
- Proficiency with building design codes and standards: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, TMS 402/602.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, masonry, steel, and aluminum structures.
- Prepare structural design calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents for water/wastewater projects.
- QC reviews of design deliverables for code compliance and client requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Provide construction phase support including shop drawing reviews and RFIs.
