Job summary

GFL Industries seeks a site supervisor to safely monitor operations and lead a team in a waste management environment. You will ensure equipment runs smoothly, maintain a compliant, efficient site and foster positive employee relations through effective leadership and risk management practices.

The role requires supervision, safety oversight, and hands-on involvement with equipment and maintenance while promoting productivity and cost-effective operations at the worksite in Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years experience in the waste industry; supervisory experience preferred.
• SWANA certified transfer station operator within 60 days of hire.
• Landfill experience with baler and bobcat handling is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Sustain a productive, motivated workforce through hiring, training and ongoing evaluation to meet service commitments.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each site.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and costs.
• Schedule safety meetings and document attendees and topics.
• Maintain records and manage inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as necessary and ensure compliance with all laws and company policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
