Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a site Operations Supervisor to safely monitor and supervise operations and personnel, ensuring equipment stays in good working order. You will lead with a professional image, manage resources, and drive productive, profitable operations.

Salary ranges from $71,000 to $89,000 annually, depending on experience. The role requires strong leadership, safety compliance, and experience in the waste industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years experience in the waste industry preferred.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• SWANA transfer station certification within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with baler and bobcat/forklift; training for hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Sustain a productive and motivated workforce by hiring, training and evaluating personnel.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job site.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics.
• Maintain necessary records.
• Manage inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as necessary.
• Comply with laws, policies and directives from supervisors.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
