Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a hands-on supervisor to lead waste operations and oversee staffing to meet service commitments. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to train and develop personnel on site.

You will implement safety programs, manage maintenance, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies across sites, including Hearne, Texas. The position is on-site and requires lifting and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence.
• Ability to satisfactorily perform all duties required.
• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Screen, select, hire, train and develop personnel to meet service commitments.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel for services rendered in accordance with guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job.
• Develop and implement an effective preventive maintenance program that reduces downtime and costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics covered.
• Maintain necessary records.
• Manage inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as necessary.
• Conform to applicable laws and company policies and directives.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
