Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Landfill Operations Supervisor to lead a productive workforce and direct daily landfill activities. You will recruit, train and evaluate personnel while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and efficient use of equipment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in waste/landfill, and SWANA certification. Expect field leadership responsibilities with strong emphasis on safety and production standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university or demonstrated record in operational management.
• Three or more years experience in the waste or landfill industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SWANA Manager of Landfill Operations certification required.

Responsibilities

• Select, supervise and train employees to meet service commitments.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Practice progressive discipline for performance issues.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job site.
• Plan and operate landfill operations to optimize personnel and equipment use.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and adjust compensation accordingly.
• Schedule safety meetings and document attendees and topics.
