Job summary

ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician Staff and Floor Manager to lead on-site medical care for cats and dogs, support HQHVSN and PPC, and direct daily floor workflow.

Responsibilities include anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, client communication, and coaching staff to maintain high standards of compassionate, low-stress care. NYS VT license required.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of veterinary science technology or equivalent per NYSED requirements.
• Minimum five years as a Registered Veterinary Technician in small animal medicine/surgery; shelter medicine or HQHVSN experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform broad veterinary technician functions: venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, diagnostics, pharmacy, patient recovery.
• Support HQHVSN and PPC for cats/dogs in ASPCA service areas and rescue care.
• Direct floor workflow, ensure timely staffing, and communicate with clients.
