Job summary

The ASPCA Community Veterinary Clinic seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician Staff and Floor Manager to lead on the clinic floor and coordinate HQHVSN and primary pet care for cats and dogs in underserved communities. You will direct workflow, assist veterinarians, and maintain compassionate client interactions.

You will oversee a busy team, ensure adherence to CM SOPs, manage throughput, and participate in ongoing training to advance medical care and leadership within the clinic.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program) or the equivalent as determined by the New York State Education Department.
• Minimum five years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician in small animal medicine and surgery; shelter medicine and/or high volume spay/neuter surgery strongly preferred
• Minimum two years people management experience

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of veterinary technician functions: venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, diagnostics, pharmacy and patient recovery.
• Work with staff veterinarians to support HQHVSN and PPC for cats and dogs.
• Use low-stress handling to provide a safe, compassionate environment for animals, staff, and clients.
• Coach nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care and adhere to CM procedures.
