Job summary

ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician Staff and Floor Manager to lead day-to-day operations, support HQHVSN and PPC services, and coordinate a high-volume, compassionate care environment for cats and dogs in underserved communities.

Ideal candidates have NYS RVT license, 5+ years in small animal medicine/surgery, and 2+ years in people management. This on-site role offers growth and a strong, team-focused culture within a leading animal welfare organization.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited veterinary technology program with NYS RVT license.
• Minimum five years as RVT in small animal medicine and surgery; shelter/ HQHVSN experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of people management experience.
• Must lift 40+ pounds and stand 8+ hours daily.
• Fear Free Shelter certification due within 60 days of hire.
• Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication, and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, diagnostics, pharmacy and patient recovery.
• Support HQHVSN and PPC for cats and dogs in ASPCA service areas.
• Maintain low-stress handling and communicate clearly with clients.
• Oversee clinic floor workflow and coach nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Train and onboard new nursing team members; participate in performance coaching and feedback.
• Ensure DEA drug log accuracy and compliance with CM protocols.
