Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation in Michigan seeks an Application Engineer to drive the technical product definition for a new commercial chassis platform from concept through production launch. You will develop product requirements, support body builder integration, manage vehicle configurations, and ensure engineering changes are reflected throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.
5+ years of experience in product engineering, applications engineering, systems engineering, vehicle integration, commercial vehicle engineering, or product development.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident; eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain vehicle, customer, and regulatory requirements with traceability.
Define chassis interfaces and installation requirements for body builders.
Maintain vehicle configurations and option logic.
Create Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and application specifications.
Evaluate engineering changes for impacts to configurations and manufacturing.
Coordinate cross-functional product integration with multiple teams.
Provide engineering support to body manufacturers, dealers, and customers.
Validate configuration rules and data in engineering systems.
Support prototypes, launches, and early production.
Identify opportunities to simplify configuration and improve documentation.
Work through ambiguity by structuring and driving execution.
