Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation is seeking a Senior Vehicle Controls Integration Engineer to own the integration of intelligent vehicle control systems across a new commercial chassis platform from concept through production launch.

You will serve as the technical authority for vehicle controls, embedded electronic systems, sensors, actuators, and interfaces, ensuring seamless hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical integration with system-level validation and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Robotics or related field.
• 8+ years in embedded vehicle controls or intelligent vehicle technologies for automotive or commercial platforms.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the vehicle controls architecture for embedded controllers and intelligent electromechanical systems.
• Lead integration of electrical, software, and mechanical systems for robust functionality and production readiness.
• Define system requirements, ICDs, interfaces, and functional interactions for vehicle controls.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers and external engineering partners while maintaining ownership of requirements and decisions.
• Support prototype builds, manufacturing launch, and early production by resolving controls integration issues.
