Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation seeks a Sr. Platform Integration & Validation Engineer to own vehicle architecture across Blue Bird platforms. You will lead integration from prototype builds through production, defining structure for chassis, body, powertrain, and electrical systems, while ensuring manufacturability and serviceability.

The role requires deep system knowledge, autonomy, and the ability to drive cross‑functional teams through complex trade‑offs under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, or systems engineering.
• 5+ years in automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing, with focus on product design or component packaging.
• All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vehicle architecture from a blank slate.
• Own the full vehicle package and envelope for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Lead integration of externally sourced assemblies into Blue Bird platforms.
• Own the Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) process and enforce standards.
• Establish and manage system interfaces across domains with clear ownership.
• Create and own product and system requirements for rapid development.
• Drive trade‑offs across performance, cost, weight, manufacturability and serviceability.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain; resolve conflicts.
