Job summary

James G. Davis Construction Corp. seeks a Senior Virtual Construction Engineer to lead BIM/VDC workflows on complex projects, providing strategic direction for model-based coordination and deliverable development. This role mentors junior staff and reports to senior leadership.

The position emphasizes coordinating federated models, clash detection, and shop drawing validation while aligning with project controls and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years VDC experience.
• Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD).
• Ability to independently manage federated models, clash detection and resolution.
• Deep understanding of point cloud processing for VDC efforts.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Experience leading coordination on active construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced BIM/VDC workflows and coordination for complex projects.
• Manage Virtual Construction project setup, model admin, and federated models.
• Define coordination needs via BIM Execution Plan and deliverables.
• Produce and oversee advanced BIM/VDC deliverables (trade drawings, overlays, point clouds).
• Mentor junior staff and align deliverables with project schedules.
• Support cost management and drive tech adoption and automation.
