Job summary

James G. Davis Construction (DAVIS) is seeking a Virtual Construction Manager to lead BIM strategy, coordination, and VC delivery across multiple projects.

The role bridges executive project management, BIM strategy, and construction delivery to support schedule, cost, risk mitigation, and field execution. The position requires 6+ years in Virtual Construction/BIM/VDC within commercial construction, strong leadership, and the ability to establish standards, guide tool selection, and connect

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum of six (6) years in Virtual Construction / BIM / VDC in commercial GC or large trade partner.
• Operations experience preferred.
• Strong technical background across BIM and Reality Capture technologies and software platforms.
• Experience collaborating with VDC, Field Services, Quality, and Safety teams.
• Proven experience managing people, BIM trade coordination workflows, and deliverables on complex projects.
• Ability to establish and enforce standards and QA/QC processes.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to guide tool selection and workflow decisions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
• Ability to connect technical data to business decisions.
• Focus on reduced RFIs, on-time BIM delivery, improved schedules, less rework, adoption by field teams.
• Oversee model-based coordination milestones to field activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM trade coordination from planning to completion, including clash tracking and RFIs.
• Align coordination decisions with master schedule and field strategies.
• Establish BIM Execution Plans, modeling standards, LOD, and data workflows.
• Ensure quality of VC deliverables like site logistics and visualizations.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Evaluate and adopt BIM/VDC hardware and software; set calibration practices.
• Oversee VC budgets, estimates, and financial updates.
• Foster relationships with trade partners and project teams for schedules.
• Mentor junior staff and lead training on advanced tools.
• Promote cross-department collaboration and industry presence for DAVIS.
