Job summary

DAVIS is seeking a Senior Virtual Construction Engineer to lead planning and oversight of advanced BIM/VDC workflows on complex construction projects. You will mentor junior staff and coordinate model-based deliverables while aligning with project controls and schedules.

You will manage federated models, perform clash detection, integrate point cloud data, and provide technical oversight across teams, shaping successful project delivery and innovative workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years VDC experience.
• Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD).
• Ability to manage federated models, clash detection, and resolution of coordination issues.
• Deep understanding of point cloud processing for VDC workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
• Strong communication with project teams and leadership.
• Experience leading coordination on active construction projects.
• Understanding of construction documents, building systems, and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced trade coordination on complex new builds and renovations, including clash detection and coordination reports.
• Manage Virtual Construction project setup, folder structures, and federated models per project controls.
• Define coordination needs using BIM Execution Plan requirements and deliverables.
• Produce and oversee advanced BIM/VDC deliverables (drawings, overlays, point clouds, site plans).
• Establish QA/QC for model accuracy and alignment with project coordinates.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering and Reality Capture teams to integrate data.
• Develop constructable solutions for coordination challenges and align with schedules.
• Mentor junior staff and support cost management, adoption of new tech and workflows.
