Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a Plan Review Engineer in the Engineering Department. Under the City Engineer, you will review plans, perform engineering analyses, and prepare reports for planning staff and City Council.

You will engage with inspectors, assist in field decisions, and support multiple projects from conceptual design to close-out. You will utilize civil engineering software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, StormCAD and AutoCAD, and you will communicate effectively with internal

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering processes.
• Experience with standard software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, StormCAD, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances and codes governing construction.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and specs to ensure compliance with development codes.
• Performs engineering research, prepares reports, and makes time/effort estimates.
• Confers with inspectors and conducts construction inspections.
• Assists with field changes decisions and investigative work.
• Prepares development submittals and reports for commissions and council.
• Supports tracking and management of multiple initiatives for the city engineer.
• Operates with Microsoft 365 and Bluebeam and maintains documentation.
