Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Cohort Leader to manage the learning experience for early career underwriting associates within the MCE Academy, a program that develops technical capabilities for Arch’s Middle Market Commercial and Entertainment underwriting organization.

The role focuses on curriculum development, coaching, and delivery, using learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to accelerate time-to-authority and build a high-performing underwriting team in Colorado.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• Ten years of underwriting experience in Middle Market or large commercial casualty UW.
• Must have technical knowledge across Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, Inland Marine, and Crime.
• Industry Certifications such as CPCU will be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Academy leader, coach, and mentor for a cohort of Early Career Program underwriting associates over 18 months, fostering growth and accountability.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, performance discussions, and developmental feedback.
• Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, case reviews, simulations, workshops, and cohort discussions.
• Monitor participant development against learning objectives and authority requirements, advising on readiness and progression.
• Collaborate with direct supervisors of cohort members about performance and progression.
• Identify curriculum gaps and lead continuous improvement of Academy content and delivery methods.
• Leverage learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve engagement and scalability.
• Evaluate learner performance through reviews of work products and on-the-job applications, providing feedback.
• Promote underwriting excellence, continuous learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the Academy.
• Support the Academy’s mission of accelerating time-to-authority and building a pipeline of leaders.
