Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Cohort Leader to manage the learning experience for early career underwriting associates within the MCE Academy, a program developing technical capabilities for Arch’s Middle Market Commercial and Entertainment underwriting teams.

The Cohort Leader guides the 18-month journey, ensuring associates gain appropriate authority levels by program end. You will drive curriculum gaps, content refinement, and continuous improvement of delivery using diverse methods

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management or related field.
• Ten years of underwriting experience in Middle Market or large commercial casualty UW.
• Technical knowledge in all product lines: Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, Inland Marine, and Crime.
• Industry Certifications such as CPCU will be a plus.
• Experience with learning and development tools a plus.
• Experience Training Underwriters a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Academy leader, coach, and mentor for a cohort of Early Career Program underwriting associates over 18 months.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and developmental feedback conversations.
• Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, case studies, simulations, and workshops.
• Monitor learner progress against objectives and authority requirements.
• Collaborate with supervisors about performance and progression within the cohort.
• Identify curriculum gaps and drive continuous improvement of Academy content.
• Leverage learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve engagement and delivery.
• Evaluate learner performance and provide actionable coaching.
• Promote underwriting excellence and knowledge sharing across the Academy and MCE.
• Support the mission of building a sustainable pipeline of future underwriting leaders.
