Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced leader for its Transportation Business Group as an Alternative Delivery Director. You will drive pursuit and execution of large, complex transportation programs, guiding contract terms, policy compliance, and collaboration across HDR’s matrix organization.

The role emphasizes stakeholder management, program development, and delivering value to public agencies and private entities while maintaining HDR’s employee-owned culture. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• PE registration is required.
• 15+ years of experience in large, complex transportation infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading Alternative Delivery projects and design/build programs.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Experience with client relationships and program pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive project approvals in compliance with HDR policies and risk approvals.
• Collaborate with HDR Business Group leads on policy, resources, and contract terms.
• Negotiate terms with HDR Legal and risk input for AD projects.
• Coordinate with Transportation Leadership and Regional Leads on client discussions and contractor relationships.
• Lead HDR matrix collaboration across Areas/Regions/Market Sectors.
