Job summary

GFT seeks an OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. This hybrid role supports major utility clients and focuses on transmission line design, routing, and project coordination across teams in several U.S. locations; for the right candidate, remote work is possible.

You will review submittals, apply NESC/IEEE/NEC standards, use PLS-CADD, and mentor junior engineers. A Bachelor's in CE/EE/SE and 4+ years' experience are required; PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years in transmission line design.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC standards.
• High proficiency in PLS-CADD.
• Experience in electrical utility/utility consulting preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project team meetings with clients and contractors.
• Review submittals for constructability and client standards.
• Review transmission line segments using PLS-CADD.
• Review design criteria documents and construction specs.
• Coordinate feasibility and routing studies, EMF calculations.
• Oversee project implementation and verification of foundations and installation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
