Job summary

GFT is seeking an OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. The role can be remote for the right candidate, with hybrid options in multiple U.S. locations.

You will lead transmission line design projects for major utility clients, applying NESC and IEEE standards and using PLS-CADD to drive accurate, code-compliant solutions. You will review submittals, coordinate with clients and teams, and contribute to robust design discussions, ensuring constructability and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in transmission line design.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and related codes for line design.
• High proficiency in PLS-CADD and FAD Tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee transmission line project designs as Owner’s Engineer.
• Review submittals from other consultants for constructability and code compliance.
• Lead client and project-team discussions and ensure adherence to standards.
