GFT is seeking an OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. This role offers hybrid work in multiple U.S. locations or remote for the right candidate, with primary duties leading transmission line design projects for a major utility client.

You will review design criteria, conduct feasibility and EMF studies, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with NESC/IEEE/NEC while delivering safe, reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 4+ years of experience in transmission line design.
• In-depth knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.
• High proficiency in PLS-CADD and familiarity with FAD Tools.
• Experience in electrical utility or utility consulting is preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead transmission line project designs as Owner’s Engineer for a major utility client.
• Review client submittals for constructability and compliance with standards.
• Review transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or similar software.
• Review design criteria, construction specs, and project documents.
• Coordinate feasibility studies, routing studies, and EMF calculations.
• Oversee project implementation, foundations, structures, and equipment installation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians within the team.
