Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Transmission Engineer to join its team in US locations including MA and CT. You will design and modify high-voltage transmission projects, coordinate with project managers, and prepare equipment specifications and RFQs while ensuring compliance with NERC, FERC, and regional standards.

The role involves data compilation for client presentations, CAD drawing updates, and field inspections, with a focus on delivering world-class designs for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an ABET-accredited program with relevant transmission experience.
• FE exam (EIT) or higher is preferred.
• Master's degree with reduced years of experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review transmission components per project manager requirements.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
