Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead the design of 2.4kV to 345kV transmission projects. You will provide technical oversight, guide design staff, and apply industry best practices across complex projects.

The role requires ABET-accredited civil engineering education with 7+ years of transmission experience (EPSc preferred) and extensive use of CAD/BIM tools. Travel up to 25% for field verification and client engagements.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with 7+ years in transmission engineering or similar path.
• FE exam with 7+ years transmission experience is acceptable.
• Master's degree with 6+ years transmission experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission design from conceptual to design completion.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Lead conductor sizing, lightning, grounding calculations and code compliance.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers and other disciplines.
• Manage project schedule, scope, budget, and staffing; control changes.
