Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer in the US Northeast region to lead the design of complex transmission line projects. You will oversee technical design staff, develop equipment specifications, and ensure compliance with NERC/FERC standards.

Responsibilities include project planning, cost proposals, field coordination, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs. Requires ABET-accredited degree, 7+ years of experience, and strong CAD skills; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering with ABET accreditation.
• 7+ years in transmission engineering; EPC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of transmission design codes and software tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership of teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission design from concept to design completion.
• Prepare specifications, RFQs, data sheets, and cost proposals.
• Mentor engineers and oversee QA/QC of drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with NERC/FERC and safety requirements.
