Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Tax Product Development to own end-to-end delivery of large features and systems. You will define technical requirements, architect solutions, and collaborate with global teams in a hybrid work setting.

The role demands strong leadership, mentoring, and hands-on engineering across the Microsoft stack. Ideal candidates have 6+ years building web-based apps with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, Angular/Typescript/React, and experience with SQL Server/Azure

Qualifications

Six (6) or more years of hands-on experience building web-based apps with the Microsoft stack.
Six (6) or more years of experience in developing stored procedures and database schemas using SQL Server, Azure SQL, or NoSQL databases.
Six (6) or more years of experience in designing and automating CI/CD/DevOps pipelines.
Six (6) or more years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal.
Six (6) or more years of experience with monitoring tools such as App Monitoring, App Insights, and Power BI.
Proficient in applying software engineering and object-oriented programming principles.
Strong experience in software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and design patterns.
Expertise in writing clean code, leading code reviews, minimizing technical debt, and establishing coding standards.
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of software engineers.
Experience in project management and delivering complex software projects on time.

Responsibilities

Leads design and implementation of major systems and features within an Agile team focused on tax solutions.
Designs, develops, and tests software solutions using web and cloud technologies for tax products.
Applies modern software engineering principles throughout the software lifecycle for tax-related applications.
Reviews business requirements for technical feasibility and collaborates with teams to deliver quality tax software products.
Mentors junior engineers to enhance code quality and performance and ensure compliance with standards.
Maintains Tax products and platforms based on roadmaps and production support processes.
Communicates effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams such as technical architects and security teams.
Champions secure coding and reducing technical debt while staying updated with tech trends.
Other duties as required.
