Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Tax Product Development to own end-to-end delivery of large features and systems. You will define technical requirements and architecture for tax solutions, collaborating across global teams in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires six or more years of hands-on development with the Microsoft stack, strong Azure experience, and mentoring capabilities to elevate engineering standards while delivering secure, scalable tax software.

Qualifications

Six or more years building web-based apps using the Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JS frameworks).
Six or more years designing DB schemas with SQL Server, Azure SQL or NOSQL databases.
Experience designing and automating CI/CD/DevOps pipelines.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal.
Experience with monitoring tools like App Monitoring, App Insights, and Power BI.
Strong OO programming, data modeling, and design patterns.
Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers and deliver projects on time.

Responsibilities

Leads design and implementation of major tax solutions within an Agile team.
Designs, develops, and tests software using web and cloud technologies for tax products.
Applies modern software engineering principles across the lifecycle for tax apps.
Reviews requirements for feasibility and collaborates with teams to deliver quality tax software.
Mentors junior engineers to improve code quality and performance.
Maintains tax products per roadmaps and compliance mandates.
Communicates with stakeholders, architects, and security teams.
Champions secure coding and reduces technical debt.
