Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Tax Product Development to drive end-to-end delivery of large tax-related features. You’ll design architecture, collaborate across global teams, and own delivery in a hybrid in-person/remote setup.

Qualifications include 6+ years with the Microsoft stack, Azure, SQL and CI/CD, plus strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide a team of software engineers in tax product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or Finance/Accounting preferred
• 6+ years building web-based apps using the Microsoft stack
• 6+ years of SQL/DB design and querying
• 6+ years deploying CI/CD/DevOps pipelines
• 6+ years with Microsoft Azure ecosystem
• Strong OO principles and design patterns
• Proven leadership and mentorship of engineers

Responsibilities

• Leads design and implementation of major tax software features
• Develops and tests web/cloud solutions for tax products
• Applies modern software engineering principles throughout the lifecycle
• Reviews requirements for technical feasibility and delivers quality software
• Mentors junior engineers to improve code quality and reduce technical debt
• Maintains tax products per roadmaps and security/compliance mandates
• Communicates with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Champions secure coding and embraces modern tech trends
