Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the operating room by maintaining and coordinating all equipment, instruments and materials. You will train OR staff, work with surgeons and central sterile teams, and help ensure safe, efficient case support across a busy OR schedule.

The role requires 3+ years of OR experience, completion of an approved technologist program, and proficiency with OR computer systems.

Qualificações

• Graduate of approved Surgical Technologist training program or equivalent combined education and experience required.
• Minimum three (3) years related OR experience required.
• Proficient in using OR computer systems and/or personal computer applications.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical products, instruments and equipment required
• Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment.
• Ability to work at a quick pace.
• Ability to work in surgical services environment.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to OR Staff through planning, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling all operating room equipment, materials and instruments.
• Provide training to OR staff on proper use of equipment.
• Collaborate with surgeon office staff, OR staff, Central Sterile staff and outside vendors in coordination of OR equipment.
• Carry out and/or coordinate routine and ad hoc maintenance and repairs to equipment.
• Function as a Surgical Technologist as needed and assigned.
• Provide functional or technical supervision of other employees in the same or related classifications where supervisory responsibility is limited to occasional direction, guidance, explanation, etc.
• Onboarding of new staff and students; provide orientation rotation with educator.
• Develop and maintain inventory par levels, review stock usage and process special orders.
• Assist with preference card development and maintenance.
• Establish instrument set protocols and revise instrument sets for utilization.
• Evaluate material usage and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Research requests for new and special-order equipment and assist with trials.
• Act as liaison between Central Sterile and OR staff.
• Create and maintain equipment reference manual and conduct in-service training.
