Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team before, during, and after surgery with sterile technique and timely supply management. This role helps prepare instruments, assists with gowning, draping, and supplying the team throughout procedures.

You will maintain a sterile field, assist with Counts, and apply dressings post-operatively, contributing to patient safety and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or equivalent required.
• Licensure/certification: Medical Tech Registration.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment and instruments on the back table and Mayo stand using sterile technique.
• Performs sponge, sharps, and other required counts with the circulating RN.
• Assists the surgeon with gowning and gloving, draping, and providing supplies and instruments.
• Maintains an organized sterile field with appropriate equipment and supplies throughout the procedure.
• Applies dressings at the completion of procedures, as appropriate.
• Assists as a second circulator in the operating room, as directed by the circulating RN.
• Picks surgical cases and updates preference cards.
