Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 Surg Tech (CST) required.
• Certificate 2 Basic Life Support required.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or US military/public health service training.
• Maintains certified surgical technologist credential with a recognized body.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate web-based applications at a basic level.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the circulating nurse before procedures to prepare OR and supplies.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and provides instruments during operation.
• Performs sterile-field tasks: passing supplies, preparing sutures, irrigating and transferring items.
• Recognizes and reports situations affecting patient safety.
• Safeguards patient privacy and maintains confidentiality.
• Supports efficient turnover by prioritizing equipment needs for upcoming cases.
