Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a $5-$50M project in Glastonbury, CT. This role requires a strong leader who can drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence on a daily on-site basis.

You will coordinate with trade contractors, manage field crews, and maintain project documentation while upholding Gilbane's core values of caring, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project valued at $30M+ on commercial/industrial construction sites.
• OSHA 30-hour certification and STS-C certification required.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Develops and communicates field work plans for changes.
• Maintains contract document knowledge to anticipate problems.
• Ensures subcontractors obtain necessary permits for construction.
• Maintains daily reports and documentation using project software.
• Creates and updates the project schedule and contingency plans.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics.
• Trains field engineers and superintendents on project needs and construction knowledge.
• Supports in writing scopes of work and in buyout processes.
• Leads safety initiatives and enforces safety compliance on site.
• Assists in Time and Materials tracking.
• Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies.
