Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer for our Power Delivery Substation Structural Group in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead aspects of electrical substation structural design, including foundations, supports, and control buildings, coordinating with the Civil/Structural Team to meet project goals.

The ideal candidate holds a BSCE from an ABET-accredited college, with 5–7 years of post-education experience in structural design and strong knowledge of ASCE, ACI, AISC, and IEEE codes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE required.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience in structural design.
• Expertise in structural analysis for steel and concrete.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, designers, and drafters on substation structural design projects.
• Prepare calculation packages and cost estimates to satisfy client and code requirements.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines for unified substation design.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Occasional travel may be required.
