Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Level Substation Structural Engineer to lead and self-perform all aspects of structural design for electrical substations, including foundations, supports, and control buildings. The role involves coordinating with multiple disciplines and preparing calculation packages to meet client and code requirements.

Located in Billings, MT with consideration for Denver, CO and other locations; requires strong English communication, potential travel, and adherence to WSP safety

Qualifications

BSCE in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET accredited college.
5–7 years of relevant post-education experience in structural design.
Expertise in structural analysis including steel and concrete design, soil mechanics, and foundation design.

Responsibilities

Lead other engineers, designers, and drafters and self-perform all aspects of electrical substation structural design (foundations, structural supports, control buildings).
Prepare calculation packages to satisfy client, code, and WSP requirements; develop construction specifications and project schedules.
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support.
