Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer in the greater Boston area to lead substation physical and protection-and-control design efforts. You will read and create detailed electrical drawings, manage BOMs, and ensure design compliance with NEC standards while collaborating with clients and a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in substation design, excellent communication, and the ability to work under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related degree with 8+ years of substation design experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical and P&C design projects.
• Read and design substation drawings: one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring, plan-section, conduit and grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical and P&C design.
• Provide project lifecycle support from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply the Minimum Requirements of the National Electrical Safety Code to design processes.
• Work with client standards to implement design.
• Occasionally attend site visits and the Framingham office for collaboration.
