Job summary

Toth and Associates, Inc. seeks a Substation Engineer III/IV to independently plan, design, and execute electrical substation projects for utility, industrial, and renewable clients. You will mentor junior engineers and support project managers while delivering code-compliant designs.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5–9 years of experience, and strong analytical skills. Travel up to 10% may be necessary; salary ranges are $90,000–$140,000 per year, with full-time benefits in

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–9 years of experience in electrical substation engineering or related power systems design.
• Ability to independently execute substation design tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical judgment skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, schedules, and multiple concurrent assignments.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of physical substation components: yard layouts, grounding, protection and control.
• Develop and review schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts, interconnection details.
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and Bills of Materials.
• Perform engineering calculations including grounding analysis and fault currents.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to resolve challenges.
