Toth And Associates, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer III/IV to independently plan, design, and execute electrical substation projects for utility, industrial, and renewable energy clients in the Pacific Northwest.

You will apply advanced judgment to develop constructible designs while mentoring junior engineers and supporting project managers. The role requires 5–9 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–9 years of experience in electrical substation engineering or related power systems design.
• Ability to independently execute substation design tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• EIT/PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of substation components including yard layouts, grounding systems, protection and control schematics, and power systems.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and materials lists for planning and construction.
• Perform engineering calculations and studies ( grounding analysis, voltage drop, fault current).
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to Engineer I/II staff and designers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to resolve technical challenges and implement solutions.
• Travel for site visits and client meetings as required.
