Toth and Associates, Inc. in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a Substation Engineer III/IV to lead the design and execution of electrical substation projects for utility, industrial, and renewable energy clients.

You will apply advanced engineering judgment to develop constructible, code-compliant designs and provide technical leadership to junior engineers. This full-time role requires a 4-year degree and 5–9 years of substation design experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–9 years of electrical substation design experience.
• Ability to lead design tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and independently perform design of substation components (yard layouts, grounding, protection).
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection details.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and BOM for planning and construction.
• Conduct grounding analysis, voltage drop, fault current studies.
• Ensure NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE/ANSI standards compliance.
• Mentor Engineer I/II staff and review work products.
• Collaborate with PMs, clients, and disciplines to resolve challenges.
• Identify risks and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
• Support client meetings and design reviews; maintain documentation.
