Job summary

E2 Optics in Houston, TX is hiring a Field Installer/Technician to install and troubleshoot structured cabling systems in advanced data center environments. You will read floorplans, interpret specifications, set up copper and fiber testers, and lead a team of 3-5 technicians on project tasks.

The role requires OSHA 30 within two weeks, BICSI Installer 2 Copper/Fiber preferred, and 2–5 years’ experience. You must be willing to travel up to 50% in some regions, train others, maintain safety and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 within first 2 weeks in role.
• BICSI Installer 2 Copper preferred.
• BICSI Installer 2 Fiber preferred.
• BICSI Certified Technician- Must be earned within 12 months in role.
• Minimum 2–5 years work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction.
• Read, write and understand English.
• Able to distinguish color codes.
• Ability to explain structured cabling systems, pathways, spaces, cabling, testing, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of 3-5 Technicians and Installers to complete project tasks.
• Adequately train Technicians and Installers to perform duties.
• Oversee jobsite organization and basic housekeeping maintenance.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor with clients.
• Excel in testing and troubleshooting of cabling systems.
• Travel as required by E2 (up to 5% overnight or more depending region).
• Demonstrate accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.
